Islamabad- An Accountability Court has adjourned the indictment of former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf today, in the Rental Power Projects case.
The AC judge Muhammad Bashir has re-summoned all the accused on the next hearing. Ashraf, who is also central leader of the Pakistan People Party (PPP), had been under investigation for his role in granting rental power projects as a water and power minister in the cabinet of ex-PM Yousuf Raza Gilani.
In March 2012, the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared all such projects unlawful and ordered investigations against the officials, including Ashraf. Former secretary and additional secretary, Water and Power Ministry, former Chairman, MD and DG of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) are also accused in the case.
