Army Chief signs death warrants of 4 militants involved in APS attack

RAWALPINDI: General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) on Monday signed death warrants of fourconvicted terrorists involved in Army Public School attack.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the convicted terrorists included Maulvi Abdul Salam, Hazrat Ali, Mujeebur Rehman and Sabeel.

The terrorists had stormed Army Public School in Peshawar on December 16, 2014, leaving 140 people martyred including students, teachers and principal.

President Mamnoon Husain had rejected mercy pleas by the militants sentenced to death on directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

“The brutal and merciless killings of our children convinced us that the perpetrators of such crimes do not deserve any mercy… The death sentence awarded to the four terrorists, in fact, was the will of the entire nation,” Prime Minister House had said in a statement
