Five personnel of DHQ Hospital were “manhandled” by the attendants of a female patient while the villagers protested against the “insulting and irresponsible behaviour” of the paramedical staff and doctors and demanded an impartial inquiry into the issue.

According to hospital source, Shahnaz Bibi of Ghanian village was brought to the emergency of the DHQ Hospital due to some stomach ailment and her relatives visited her to enquire after her health but the ward boy on duty, Shahid Iqbal, asked them to leave the ward.
Thereupon, they hit him with kicks, fists and shoes. Resultantly, he fell down on the ground. Other personnel Mehar Saghir, Abid, Azhar and Asad rushed to the spot to save their colleague but the villagers also thrashed them.
