ISLAMABAD – Ministry of National Heritage and Integration has decided to build 10 new galleries in National Heritage Museum, Lok Virsa in March 2013 under a policy to highlight the culture of different parts of the country.
Talking to INP, Director Lok Virsa Museum, Asif Javed Shahjahan said that PC-I had been forwarded to the Ministry of National Heritage and Integration for the up-gradation of the museum. According to the plan, statues of labourers and skilled persons of the country would be placed in the galleries. He said that effective policy of the government was enhancing the recognition and honour of Pakistan in the world. He further said that the museum was set up in a way that it looked like a mini Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the heritage museum, constructed on 60,000 square feet area, is the only museum of its kind in the country where living styles and cultures of different parts of Pakistan is candidly highlighted. More than 10,000 persons visit the museum monthly including foreigners and delegations of different institutions.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Religious Affairs has started the preparations of annual National Seerat Conference - 2013 to commemorate Eid Milad-un-Nabi in a befitting manner, said an official of the Ministry. Talking to APP he said, invitations have already been sent to prominent Ulema and scholars from across the country to attend the conference being held on Rabi- ul- Awwal 12, 1434, (January 24 or 25 subject to appearance of moon).
The National Seerat Conference is likely to be inaugurated at 10:30 am by country’s prominent personality.
The event would be held at Pak-China Friendship Centre. As many as two sessions would be held on 12 Rabbi- ul- Awwal 1434 to commemorate the even in a befitting manner. In the conference, Ulema and scholars will highlight different aspects of the life of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) the last messenger of Allah Almighty.
Such conferences will also be held at the provincial, divisional and district headquarters with a view to project the life, Seerah and disseminate the teachings of the Holy Prophet (SAW), he said. Mahafil-e-Milad and public meetings would be held in different parts of the country, while faithful will actively participate in the programs organised by different local, religious and social organisations, he said.
