BHITSHAH – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the PPP is committed to conduct free, fair and impartial elections as per requirement of the constitution. Similarly the caretaker government in centre and provinces would be formed with the consultation of the opposition leader, he added.
This he observed while talking to the media men after laying chadar at the grave of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai to conclude 269th annual urs celebrations on the Sait on Sunday. “Since we believe in reconciliation, our talks with the political parties are always been continued because we do not want any confrontation in the politics but desire to strengthen democracy and democratic institutions which is the best option for the progress and prosperity of the country.”
Responding a question about disconnection of Wasa electric lines, the CM said that he has talked to the Federal Minister Water & Power to restore the disconnected electric lines of Wasa and hoped the power would soon be restored. He said that every individual and institution has to pay the bills. He said that the Sindh Chief Secretary has been directed to conduct the meeting of stakeholders for reconciliation of outstanding against the Wasa and hopefully the matter would be resolved.
He said that some people are criticising the PPP government, “but we don’t mind the criticism because we believe that people are the best judge and do understand their sincere.” He said, “We believe in the power of people and our slogan was people are bastion of powers.”
He said because of the PPP, the people are enjoying their own government and they have excess even to Chief Minister, they question the Chief Minister, on the contrary to dictators’ regimes when people didn’t excess to the associates of Chief Minister. He said that PPP has the strength and treasure of its workers who have lot of love and affection with the party and its leaders which could be proved from the fact that the group of the PPP workers marched from Bhitshah to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to tribute Benazir Bhutto.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah also inaugurated the project of repair and renovation of Shah-Jo-Bagh and laid the foundation stone of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Research and Music Academy in Bhitshah by unveiling the plaque.
He said philosophy of great saint poet of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is needed to be practiced in the country especially at the present age when the world is experiencing hatred, confrontation and terrorism. He said that establishment of Sufi University at Bhitshah was aimed to promote the philosophy of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai to bring peace, interfaith harmony, love and affection.
He said that it was only PPP that has established Sufi University at Bhitshah under the directives of President of Pakistan to promote the Sufism. He said though because of some procedural requirements, the establishment of University has not been completed in all sense but “we’ll complete it shortly.” He said the Saint gave the message of love and affection and prayed for Sindh and rest of the world as well. He said that Sindh and Sindhi culture was beautified because of Bhittai’s philosophy.
The CM said that economically, culturally and socially 5-year tenure of the PPP government has remained as the golden period. He said that the PPP government has made marvellous development in each field and added that cultural field was one of them. He said that during last 5 years the publication of 490 books most of them on the philosophy of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai was not an easy job which was done by Provincial Culture Department.
He said, “We can defeat social evil, hater and confrontation through Sufism and the more research in Sufism is needed.” He said that Provincial Culture Department did good job in the field of research and publication and promotion of the literature. He said that initially people don’t acknowledge the work but later on when they compare with others they realised.
