Girls college gets HEC NOC for MA English classes

HAFIZABAD
The Higher Education Commission has issued a No Objection Certificate for introducing MA English classes in Government Islamia Degree College for Women Hafizabad from the current academic session, said Gujranwala Deputy Director Colleges Rana Maqsood Ahmad here.
He further said that an NOC for the introduction of MA Islamiyat classes would also be issued shortly. He hoped that the requisite staff would be appointed in the college to ensure timely launching of MA English classes.
It is pertinent to mention here that postgraduate block in the college had been constructed adjacent to the existing college about ten years back by spending over Rs100 million but despite repeated requests and protests by the female students and their parents and little interest evinced by the elected representatives, MA classes could not be started, as a result of which most of the students had abandoned their post-graduate studies due to lack of their financial resources.
Meanwhile, Housewives Association and different students union have thanked the HEC for granting NOC for the introduction of MA English classes and have called upon the Provincial Education Department to appoint the staff in the college for introduction of MA classes without further delay.
