Shutterdown strike in Karak tomorrow

KARAK The ANP, Karak district chapter, and the elders of Karak district have jointly decided to make shutter down strike and protest against the resignation of the provincial minister for Prisons Mian Nisar Gul tomorrow (Tuesday) and has demanded of Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti and the provincial Chief of the party Afrasaib Khattak not to accept his resignation. This was decided in an emergency meeting held here on Sunday here at the residence of former Tehsil Naib Nazim Malik Qadir Khan Khattak and besides large number of workers of ANP, district general secretary of ANP Usman Khattak advocate, President of Anjuman Ahlian-e-Behbood Karak Captain (retd) Lizat Shah and general secretary Captain (Retd) Daraz, elder of Mithakhel Raheem Gul Khattak and former councillors Ahmad Hassan alias Madd and Rasheed Khattak participated in the meeting. While addressing the meeting, Malik Qadir Khan informed the meeting that a huge protest and shutter down strike would be observed at Karak city on June 1, under the aegis of ANP district Karak chapter. He added that workers of ANP have already been mobilised in this regard and added that for the complete success of the strike, corner meetings of the workers on union council level would be held and maximum workers and people would ensure their participation in the protest. He further informed the meeting that they had completed the homework for the protest and the preparation of large banners and wall chalking was being made across the district. He added that the city organisation of ANP had completed the consultation with the trader community of the city to observe complete shutter down strike and the traders district organisation had given its full cooperation in this regard to press the government for the acceptance of their demand. He also informed that they had held talks with the transport union district president Noor Sadique Khattak that no vehicle would be allowed to enter the city on June 1 and added that the transport union had also shown its willingness to support the June 1, protest in the larger interest of the Karak district and the Southern district as well. He stressed the union council level organisations of ANP to complete its corner meetings as early as possible and update the district organisation of the party regarding their preparation. Malik urged them to bring maximum people in the scheduled protest. Malik said that Mian Nisar Gul was the second minister from the entire Southern districts and he had now put the Karak district on the path of development and his resignation from the slot of minister was a great loss to the Karak district and the rest of the Southern districts as well. He added there was unrest among the workers of ANP with his resignation from the slot and demanded of Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti and the provincial chief of the party Afrasaib Khattak not to accept his resignation and retain him in the provincial cabinet as a minister. The former Tehsil Naib Nazim also recalled the promise made by the Chief Minister with the people of Karak district through Mian Nisar Gul that the ANP-led coalition government would increase the royalty of oil and gas to the district up to 10 percent from five percent and demanded that the chief minister should realise its pledge in the upcoming budget.
