US threats a slap in rulers' face: Baloch

QUETTA - Describing the threats by the US to attack on Pakistan a slap on the face of rulers, Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch has stressed the need of revising the foreign policy. Addressing a news conference on Sunday after paying a five-day visit to different towns of Balochistan, he said, It is the high time that the rulers should immediately change countrys foreign policy by halting all logistic and other support to the US-led coalition forces stationed in Afghanistan. Expressing regret over the prevailing situation in Balochistan, the JI leader demanded an immediate end to the use of force in Balochistan and tribal areas of the country. Rulers and bureaucracy should quit bunkers and bullet proof vehicles and change their conduct so that confidence of masses could be restored, he urged, adding that all issues should be settled through dialogue. He also demanded immediate recovery all missing persons. Criticising the federal government, Liaquat said Prime Minister Gilani and Federal Minister Babar Awan had announced 40,000 jobs for the Baloch youths under Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package, which had been cut down to 5,000 only. He alleged that merit had been set-aside during tests and interviews while vacancies were distributed amongst the ministers and bureaucrats. Continuing his scathing attack on the govt, Baloch said the government was making all the decisions on the behest of IMF and World Bank while the budget was being prepared on their directions. Responding to a question, the JI leader said the federal government should ensure the immediate implementation of Supreme Courts orders and warned that any delay would create more difficulties for the country. President Zardari says he is fighting to save Pakistan, which is a big joke with the nation, he remarked, adding that Zardari was fighting for protecting his ill-gotten wealth. Responding to another query, he urged all political, religious and democratic forces to come forward and frustrate the nefarious conspiracies being hatched against the country. Amir JI Balochistan Mau-lana Abdul Matin Akhundzada and General Secretary Zahid Akhtar Baloch were also present on the occasion.
