Execution of NAP: illegal entry via Torkham border banned

KHYBER AGENCY: Implementing the National Action Plan the Pakistani border authorities at Torkham announced that no one would be allowed to enter via Torkham border without legal travel documents from 1st June 2016, sources said on Tuesday.

An offcial of the political administration at Torkham told this scribe that Khyber rifle force personnel at Torkham made announcements through loud speakers that nobody will be permitted to enter via Torkham border without having legal passport and valid visa from 1st June,2016.

The Torkham border sources said that security on Pak-Afghan border has been tighten and extra Khasadar and security force personnel have been deployed at various points in Torkham to curb the illegal entry of persons into Pakistan territory.

Sources also said that banners have also fasten in various places in Torkham with warning to Afghan nationals not to enter Pakistanterritory via Torkham without valid travel documents.

It is pertinent to mention here that two days before a meeting was held between Pakistan and Afghanistan officials at Torkham discussing the border issue. It was learnt that during the meeting the Afghan authorities had requested the Pakistansecurity officials to give relaxation to Afghan citizens entering Pakistan during the month of Ramadan.

The Pakistan officials have told them they would obey what Islamabad tells them.

According to officials the initiative is the part of national action plan aiming to protect border which will be in the favor of long-lasting peace in both countries.
