Karachi- Turkmenistan authorities issued a notice to Pakistan International Airlines today for nonpayment of fees related to using the country’s airspace for international flights.
PIA uses Turkmenistan’s airspace for flights to Europe and Canada. Turkmenistan's government has alleged that Pakistan's national carrier has been using its airspace and has not made a payment in this regard for months. The aviation authorities of Turkmenistan asked the national carrier to pay the dues by November 3, according to a private TV channel.
Earlier in April this year, Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation had sent a notification to PIA regarding nonpayment of dues worth millions of rupees. PIA has been suffering losses worth billions since many years and its accumulated dues have been on the rise.
