Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, flanked by scores of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists, reached Burhan Interchange late on Monday, reported Waqt News.
Police have used tear gas shells to target Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Swabi. The protestors were making their way towards Islamabad on Monday to join PTI's scheduled Nov 2 'lockdown' of the capital.
Khattak earlier said that the province and the Constitution of Pakistan are under attack from the federation and the Punjab government.
"The federal government has resorted to hooliganism now. This is an attack on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province," he said.
His remarks came shortly after the chief minister and his supporters were barred from crossing Hazro Interchange on the M-1 motorway linking Peshawar and the federal capital.

Khattak was due to lead a caravan of his supporters to Islamabad from Swabi Interchange, but his request for safe passage was declined.
Hundreds of PTI workers clashed with police at Swabi Interchange. The area has been turned into a virtual battle ground.
Police also fired teargas, forcing PTI workers to retreat at the inter-change.
According to media footage, many protesters jumped down the bridge to escape the shelling. A helicopter is also being used for air surveillance.
PTI leaders Arif Alvi, Imran Ismail arrested
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Arif Alvi and Imran Ismail were arrested by the police outside PTI leader Imran Khan’s residence, reported Waqt News.
The two men were arrested “brutally” according to Imran Ismail’s twitter while TV footage showed police officers manhandling MNA Arif Alvi.

Once inside the police van, the two men took a selfie and shared it on Ismail’s twitter.

Shortly after the arrest however, the two men were released following the Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar’s notice to release Arif Alvi and Imran Ismail.
Female PTI activists detained outside Bani Gala
Two female activists of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were detained on Coring Road located just outside Bani Gala.
The detained women are PTI workers from Lahore and were protesting with others for not being allowed to proceed to Imran Khan’s residence.
Those detained are being moved to the secretariat police station.
