LAKKI MARWAT - Police will produce the head of a seminary, Maulana Saifullah accused of raping a student of his seminary, before judicial magistrate at the Judicial Complex Tajazai on Thursday, said SHO Tajori Ayaz Khan.
Talking to The Nation on Thursday, the SHO said that Maulana Saifullah had been arrested on the complaint of a 13-year-old student, Muhammad Waqas resident of Dhoda village who accused him of rape.
The rape victim is Hafiz-e-Quran and was enrolled in the seminary located in Bachkan Ahmadzai village near the border of frontier tribal region.
“A case FIR No 123 dated 28-03-2016 under section 377 (Unnatural offence) and 342 (wrongful confinement) of Pakistan Penal Code has been registered against seminary’s chief in Tajori police station,” he maintained.
“The head of seminary directed Waqas to bring water to his room for ablution where he grasped and raped him,” said the station house officer quoting the content of FIR.
The police official further claimed that local police took quick action on the complaint of rape victim, arrested the accused cleric and produced him before the local court, which remanded him back to police for two days.
He added that samples of semen collected from clothes of the accused used during and after the commission of offence had been sent to laboratory in Peshawar for examination.
“During investigation the head of seminary Saifullah confessed to have committed the inhuman crime of rape with student”, claimed SHO, saying that the confessional statement of accused is in his own handwriting besides he also confessed to have raped the boy in a video clip.
“Police will present him before judicial magistrate today after the expiry of two day remand”, he added.
