KARAK - Two people, including former JUI-F district chapter general secretary Maulana Saleemullah, were killed and three others sustained critical injuries here on Tuesday. Sources said Saleemullah was at a jirga held at Latamber when he exchanged harsh words people there. After the jirga he was on the way to his home on foot when gunmen stopped him and fired shots at him in Latamber city, killing him on the spot and critically wounding four others, including a student and two traders. The injured were rushed to Karak District Headquarters Hospital where one of them, Sadiqur Rahman, resident of Paloski Banda, succumbed to his injuries. Another critically injured, identified as Muhammad Numan was referred to Peshawar while Muhammad Usman, the second injured was stated to in critical condition at DHQ Hospital and the third victim, Muhammad Bukhtiar, was reported out of danger. Meanwhile, the bullet-riddled body of Maulana Saleemullah was brought to another hospital for autopsy and later, it was handed over to the heirs.
