Centre refuses free plots for KP MPs in Islamabad

PESHAWAR - The Federal Government has refused to allot free plots in Islamabad to 124 Members of Parliament Khyber Pukhtunkhwa assembly which were demanded by the provincial assembly as security measure for MPs against terrorism. A day before the KP provincial assembly passed a resolution wherein it was stated that MPs from the province were facing death threats from militants hence they should be provided plots in Islamabad by the centre for safety. The demand was sent to the Prime Minister Secretariat and Capital Development Authority, however, the Centre has expressed its inability to provide plots to KP MPs. According to sources the centre has sent a letter to the provincial govt stating no MP will be provided any free-of-cost plot in Islamabad, adding that they can buy plots according to rules and regulations. It is to be mentioned that many MPs from KP were targeted by militants, including Mian Iftikhar, Bashir Bilour, and Wajid Ali Khan. Citing attacks on these people the KP assembly made the case for demanding free plots in Islamabad as a security step.
