Accused held in ex-AG murder case

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Islamabad Police on Sunday arrested the close aide of the nominated accused in the murder of former attorney general Muhammad Sardar Khan, who was killed in Sector G-11/2 of the federal capital on February 3 last, a police spokesman said. He said the arrested person, Fazal Ahmed, is an accomplice of Rooh Ullah, adding that Fazal allegedly assisted him to flee abroad by arranging fake passport after the murder. During the interrogation from already detained murder accused Mamor Khan, it was ascertained that Fazal Ahmed assisted Rooh Ullah in attaining fake passport to proceed to Afghanistan. Following information extracted from the nabbed accused, Investigation Officer Zulfiqar Ahmed arrested Fazal. Police have registered case under sections 420, 468, 419, 471, 216 of PPC at Aabpara Police Station. Further investigation is underway from him.
