Judicial commission to submit report within seven days

LAHORE -Lahore High Court Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif on Thursday constituted a three-member judicial commission to investigate the breaching of dykes and embankments in South Punjab. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif requested the Chief Justice to constitute a judicial commission three days ago. Reasons behind this plea was that several politicians, landlords and influential persons were accused of breaching dykes to save their lands due to which many areas were submerged. The judicial commission, led by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, also includes Secretary Irrigation and Power Department Mansoob Ali Khan and UET Engineer Abdul Sattar Shakir. The commission will complete its report on breaches made at Jampur, Taunsa Barrage, Jinnah Barrage and Mithan Kot and present it to the Court within seven days.
