Pakistan seals Afghan border along S Waziristan

WANA, MIRANSHAH, HANGU (Online) - Pakistan has sealed its border with Afghanistan in South Waziristan and imposed curfew there to prevent Taliban fighters fleeing a massive US offensive launched in Southern Afghanistan. On the directives of federal government, Pakistan army has already deployed additional troops at Pakistan-Afghanistan border to support US offensive against Taliban in Helmand province of Afghanistan. The curfew has been imposed in border areas. On the other hand, the bombardment of jet fighters in North Waziristan has killed eight people and injured 10 others. The militants hideouts were also targeted in tehsil Data Khel of North Waziristan. In Hangu, the militants targeted police checkpost in Dawaba area with heavy weapons and in retaliatory action, two militants were killed.
