12 women, 5 kids escape from Quetta Darul Aman

QUETTA - About 12 women and five children escape from the Darul Aman in the provincial capital on Saturday. According to police, the Darul Aman administration informed them that 12 women and five children escaped the shelter on Brewery Road by cutting window grills in the morning. Brewery SHO Ameer Dashti told this scribe that police launched a search operation in the city to locate the escapees, but no one was found till the filling of this report. He said plainclothes were deployed at different areas, including the railway station and bus stops. He said investigation was underway and that the security arrangements of the Darul Aman were very poor as only one gatekeeper was deployed there. Police have registered a case and arrested the gatekeeper. Meanwhile, four people were killed and another wounded in two separate incidents of firing and rocket attack in different towns of Balochistan on Sunday. According to sources, two coal-laden trucks were heading to Punjab from Rakhani area of Barkhan when militants fired rockets and opened indiscriminate fire on vehicles near the Sairahi Daab area, killing driver Abdul Nafay and Habibullah on the spot and injuring another driver critically. The injured and deceased were moved to hospital. Sources said after the attack, the trucks caught fire and were gutted. The deceased and injured belong to Qila Abdullah area of Balochistan. In another incident, two people were killed in Turbat town of the Kech district. The sources said that unidentified armed motorcyclists sprayed a volley of bullets at a vehicle in Turbat, killing two people Attaullah and driver Noor Muhammad. Police rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. However, motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained.
