PESHAWAR - Unknown miscreants fired three rockets at Bara Gate and Nawa Kaly area of Peshtahara in mid night of Friday and Saturday - however no human and property losses were reported. Police sources said that the rockets were fired from an unknown location and hit a government high school Bara Gate at 1:00am, while two projectiles landed in the nearby fields of Peshtahra area. Soon after the explosion heavy contingent of police rushed towards the site, but no human and property damage was reported. Both the rockets exploded with a big bang and caused severe fear and panic in the surrounding areas of Peshawar airport. It is worth mentioning here that Peshawar airport is situated adjacently to Bara Gate and mostly the target of these attacks is the sensitive airport location and most of the rockets are probably fired from Bara Sub Division of Khyber agency. But after the incident police and high ups did not probe about these attacks. Couple of months back two rockets were fired which landed at the runway of Peshawar airport, and which damaged the runway so routine flights were also suspended. Luckily this time the rockets landed outside the airport near Nawa Kaly. Meanwhile in the wake of frequent rocket attacks on Peshawar airport, city police Peshawar have beefed up the security in the Provincial metropolis and heavy contingent of Frontier police and Frontier Constabulary have been deployed on all the important points of cantonment area.
