Bhutto's 31st death anniversary observed

ISLAMABAD/NAUDERO (Online) The 31st death anniversary of PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was observed throughout country on Sunday with central gatherings at Garhi Khuda Bux, Naudero and Larkana. PPP and PPP (Shaheed Bhutto group) arranged separate gatherings and different programmes to observe death anniversary of former Prime Minister at Garhi Khuda Bux. The caravans of party workers and leaders of PPP arrived in Larkana, Naudero and Garhi Khuda Bux to attend ZAB anniversary while welcome camps at various chowks and main roads leading to Naudero, Garhi Khuda Bux were installed. Separate camps were set-up to accommodate the leaders and workers from all the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Strict security measures were taken on this occasion and a monitoring room was set up at CPO Office for the monitoring of security arrangements. Garhi Khuda Bux and President House, Naudero had been divided into two zones and nearly 10,000 police officials were deployed there while DPOs of five districts to be headed by DIG Larkana were appointed for monitoring of the gathering. 500 commandoes and 500 lady police officials performed duties around President House, Naudero and mazar while five gates representing the federation and four provinces were installed at the place of the public gathering and 40 walkthrough gates were also installed. Close circuit cameras, jammers and bomb detectors were installed around the mazar while Bomb Disposal Squad also remained present there. Special traffic arrangements were made to ensure smooth flow of traffic and the area outside the mazar and President House, Naudero were declared no-parking zone. It is pertinent to mention that the charismatic leader was hanged during the dictatorial rule of Ziaul Haq on April 4, 1979.
