Tribal elder among two killed

QUETTA - A tribal elder and a head constable were shot ded in separate incidents in Quetta and Mastung. Sardar Mir Nawaz Khan, a tribal elder of Jatoi tribe, and a passer-by boy were killed in the provincial capital when unidentified bike riders targeted his vehicle on Qambarani Road near Kashmirabad. Resultantly, Mir Nawaz and an eleven-year-old Nauroz succumbed to the bullet wounds at the hospital. Two bodyguards of Mir Nawaz were also injured in the attack. Police say the reason behind killing is an old enmity. And in Mastung, a cop was killed and two others wounded as a result of firing in Kanak area, 60 km south of Quetta. Head Constable Khalil Ahmed along with Khuda-e-Rahim and Abdul Qadir were attacked at Kanak Cross, resulting in on the spot death of Khalil and serious wounds to his companions. The personnel of law enforcement agencies rushed to the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for first medical aid. Later, the doctors referred injured to Quetta for further treatment. The motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained.
