Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has expressed gratefulness to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leaders for maintaining peace during the holy month of Muharram on his appeal. Talking to media persons here in Islamabad on Tuesday, Rehman Malik said that it was a matter of satisfaction that Ashura Muharram passed off peaceful and no untoward incident was reported during the mourning processions and Majalis across the country. He lauded the performance of police, rangers, elite force and other law enforcing agencies for ensuring fool proof security during the holy month. Malik had earlier called on Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and briefed him about the countrywide security measures taken by government amid Muharram processions. It's worth mentioning that Interior Minister had also appealed the TTP for not carrying out any terror attack during Muharram processions.
