Anti-India protests in occupied Kashmir

In occupied Kashmir, forceful anti-India demonstrations were held in Sopore, Baramulla, Pattan, Kupwara and Islamabad areas. According to KMS, A protestor, Muhammad Saleem, was injured after he was hit by a rubber bullet fired by Indian paramilitary forces in Sopore town. Hundreds of people including children and women staged protests in Langate and Khurham areas of Kupwara against firing on a youth, Ashiq Hussain Mir and arresting of one civilian, Abdur Rouf Pandit by Indian troops. The protestors while raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans said that the men in uniform had made their life a hell. The demonstrators were dispersed by bullets and teargas shelling by paramilitary forces and policemen in Pattan and Khanpora areas of Baramulla and at Hutmura in Islamabad. On the other hand, life remains paralysed across the Valley on the second day, today, due to the civil curfew call of which has been given by Veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani to attract the attention of the US President, Barack Obama, who is visiting India, towards the prevailing situation in occupied Kashmir. Meanwhile, the occupation authorities have imposed undeclared curfew and strict restrictions in Sopore, Sheeri, Palhalan and Delina areas to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations.
