AG forced to leave Bar room

MULTAN - Attorney General of Pakistan Latif Khan Khosa was forced to leave the Bar room of Lahore High Court Multan Bench on Monday when he reached here to meet the People's Lawyers' Forum members. When Mr Khosa whose entry to the premises of high court building has been banned by the general body of High Court Bar Association Multan came to the bar room out of his schedule and started meeting the lawyers of People's Lawyers' Forum, he was intercepted by lawyers who want reinstatement of deposed chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry. General Secretary Multan High Court Bar Association Naveed Ahmed led his group. Naveed asked the Attorney General to leave the place as his entry was banned. Meanwhile, lawyers accompanying him shouted slogans to demand restoration of all deposed judges. The lawyers of People's Lawyers' Forum also started raising slogans in favor of Mr Khosa and PPP government. This situation climaxed into a melee. Khosa left the bar after about half an hour. Addressing a press conference General Secretary High Court Bar Multan Rana Naveed said that lawyers' community would not allow any person to enter the Bar premises whose entry has been banned. He said Mr Khosa was asked to leave the Bar Room because his entry was banned and he had not sought permission for the visit to the bar room.
