ISI chief refuses to meet US envoys?

ISLAMABAD - Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Athar Abbas has denied that ISI chief Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha had declined to meet US special envoy Richard Holbrooke and Admiral Mike Mullen. Reacting to private TV channels reports Tuesday, he said that General Pasha was also present in the meeting of Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani with US officials. Earlier private TV channels, quoting their sources, had reported that ISI chief Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha had declined to meet with US officials. According to channel reports, a meeting was scheduled between Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha and US officials Richard Holbrooke and Admiral Michael Mullen, but Pasha refused to meet them as a protest against their allegations and harsh statements against the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). In the recent past, US officials had criticised the ISI and accused it of having links with terrorists. The western media has also launched an intentional campaign against Pakistans intelligence agency ISI.
