Taseers killers will be exposed, says Zardari

LAHORE - President Asif Ali Zardari has said that all the murder plotters of Governor Salmaan Taseer will be exposed and his sacrifice will not go waste. 'The life and sacrifice of martyred Taseer is a beacon of light for PPP workers as well as democratic forces in the country, he said during his visit to Taseers Cavalry Ground residence where he condoled with Taseers widow and his family here on Friday. President Asif Ali Zardari offered Fateha for the departed soul and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the martyred PPP leader an exalted place in heaven and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity. Lauding late Taseers services for waging a crusade against extremism and fanaticism in the country, the President said government will do its utmost to expose all those who conspired to assassinate him. He said that Shaheed Salmaan Taseer led a brave, undaunted political life and embraced martyrdom following the golden tradition set by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and hundreds of PPP workers. Zardari said that Taseer had written with his blood a new chapter in the history of PPPs heroic struggle against bigotry and tyranny, adding, that Taseer embraced martyrdom fighting for human rights, minorities rights and democracy. He said that party workers and democratic forces were proud of Salmaan Taseers great sacrifice, reminiscing that he always called a spade a spade and did not mince words in expressing what he had believed to be true and right. Zardari eulogised the courage and determination of the late Taseer in espousing the cause of marginalised sections of society, adding, that his readiness to pay the highest price for it would continue to inspire many in future. 'The supreme sacrifice rendered by Shaheed Salmaan Taseer will not go in vain, he added. Earlier, the President reached the metropolis on an unannounced visit and went directly to Taseers private residence. The President returned to Karachi later in the day.
