IIUI student arrested for alleged role in Parade Lane attack

ISLAMABAD Officials of law enforcement agencies arrested a student of International Islamic University (IIUI) over his alleged involvement in gun-cum bomb attacks on Prade Lane mosque in Rawalpindi, sources said. They said that accused facilitated the suicide bombers as he provided shelters to them in Islamabad where bombers had planned to blow Prade Lane mosque. It may be recalled here that in the result of Prade Lane mosque attacks dozens people including senior army officials lost their lives. Sources informed that accused Muhammad Asghar alias Gori, was student of Sharia and Law department in IIUI where some month ago two suicide bombers blew themselves up, killing many students and varsity staffers. Sources said that accused student was residing in sector G-9/3 with his family and his father is on a key post in Ministry of Information. When contacted, Muzamal Hussain, a spokesman for IIUI he neither confirmed nor denied the arrest of student. He said, I am not in a position to give any version regarding the arrest of student. He, however, confirmed that till Friday noon no arrest was made and expressed his ignorance about what happened at university premises later.
