Arrest warrant for ex-home minister issued

QUETTA - A judicial magistrate has issued arrest warrants of former home minister Balochistan, Shoaib Nosherwani in Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti murder case. Nawab Bugti, former chief minister Balochistan, was assassinated in a military action in 2006 in Tartani area of district Kohlu. Balochistan High Court had ordered for registering a murder case of Nawab Bugti against former president Pervez Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former interior minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, former governor Balochistan Owais Ahmed Ghani, former chief minister Balochistan Jam Muhammad Yousuf and former home minister Balochistan Shoaib Nosherwani. Balochistan government had requested the federal government for extradition of nominated accused who were abroad. But the Centre had asked the provincial government to get arrest warrants issued by the court for the nominated accused. enabling the federal govt to get the red warrants from the Interpol for those accused who were out of the country. The crimes branch police had approached the Judicial Magistrate Sui for warrants of arrest of former home minister Shoaib Nosherwani. The court issued his warrants on Saturday. A source in police department when asked about non-issuance of arrest warrants of other accused, said the crime branch team which was investigating the murder case of Nawab Bugti had contacted indirectly Mir Shoaib Nosherwani through Speaker Balochistan Assembly for cooperation in the investigations but he refused. Therefore, the team approached the Judicial Magistrate Sui for his warrants of arrest. As far as other accused are concerned the investigating team had written a letter to the interior secretary and home department Balochistan seeking their approval to approach the court for obtaining their arrest warrants.
