DERA GHAZI KHAN - Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that the compensation and rehabilitation of the flood victims will not be delayed while all the basic facilities will be provided to affectees at tent villages. Addressing flood-hit families on Tuesday at Rojhan and Rajanpur, he said all the victims would be registered and shifted to makeshift camps till their complete rehabilitation. He said animals would also be vaccinated. He directed the district administration to provide all facilities including security and water to the flood affectees. Later, he visited Rojhan and Rajanpur, and asked the officials concerned to operate complaint cell round the clock. Agencies add: Shahbaz Sharif urged the federal government to distribute foreign aid to flood-affected people keeping in view the devastation caused to the respective provinces. Talking to a private TV channel, he said Rs25 billion demanded from the federal government would cover only emergency relief and that trillions would be needed for the rehabilitation of flood affectees. The CM demanded that the countrys wealth and resources that had been misappropriated by many should be taken from them and be distributed among flood victims. Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif asked Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to recover the money from looters of national exchequer and from those who had got their loans written off and give it to flood affectees otherwise a bloody revolution would come. Addressing a Press conference at Shaikh Zayed Airport in Rahimyar Khan on Tuesday, Shahbaz said if the Prime Minister wants to write his name in golden words then he should recover the money from looters and give it to flood affectees. The CM said that foreign aid should be handed over to provinces so it could be given to the affectees. The Punjab government has asked the Prime Minister to give financial assistance for flood affectees but the PM has not responded yet.
