Pak-Afghan border sealed

QUETTA - Heavy contingent of security forces have been deployed at Pak-Afghan border in Nushki and Chagai districts and the border has been completely sealed. It may be mentioned that America has bolstered its military strength and troops in the Helmand province of Afghanistan, which is considered the heartland of Taliban insurgency. In order to stop any entry of Taliban militants or terrorists into Pakistani territory from Helmand, the security has been tightened and more troops have been deployed along with border side, said an official. Sources said that security forces at border have dug ditches of ten feet in order to stop any illegal movement from bordering area. After the deployment of troops in bordering areas of Nushki and Chagai, formal and informal movement of people and business activities have been stopped. According to people of bordering areas, jet fighter planes are making frequent flights in bordering areas particularly in the night which has spread panic and fear among the people in the area. We are strictly directed not to turn on lights and lamps at night because of security reasons while a large number of troops are present at border area that indicates some thing wrong at border, said a resident of bordering area of Nushki district. The people of bordering areas of Nushki and Chagai are of the view that if Taliban entered into Pakistani territory it would increase chances of American drones attack in their areas. They said government should take all steps to stop Taliban militants using Pakistani territory for their nefarious designs.
