Another bomber strikes Peshawar

PESHAWAR - At least two men including a bomber died while 12 people received injuries when a police mobile van was attacked in limits of Faqirabad Police Station late Thursday, eye-witnesses and police confirmed the incident. One of the deceased, however, could not be identified, while two legs recovered from the spot are believed to be the bombers who used motorcycle in the blast, the police city chief said. Eye-witnesses said that a hand-grenade was thrown at police mobile at ring road near Latifabad Chowk, when the police were busy in routine checking. The explosion caused minor injuries to the police officials who called for rescue. When another mobile of Pharipura police came to the spot, a bomber driving a motorbike reached there and blew himself up killing another man and causing injuries to some 12 others including 5 police officials and an auto-rickshaw driver. The blast also caused damage to police mobiles and auto-rickshaw. The police officials said that it was police targeted blast. Monitoring Desk adds: At least two alleged terrorists were killed in a crossfire as terrorists tried to target residence of senior officials at Khyber Road in Peshawar on Thursday night, reported a private TV channel. Governor House, CM House, High Court building and other important offices are situated near Khyber Road. Three terrorists tried to infiltrate the highly-guarded area, but security personnel deployed there confronted them which resulted in exchange of fire for two hours. Two terrorists were killed in the shootout while another managed to flee the scene. Police cordoned off the area and started search operation.
