GARHI KHUDA BUX (Agencies) - President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday paid respect at the mausoleum of late Benazir Bhutto, the chairperson of Pakistan People's Party, who was killed in a terrorist attack on Dec 27 last year. Strict security was put in place for President Zardari who was on his first visit after assuming his office. Zardari visited the mausoleums of late Benazir Bhutto and her father Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He offered fateha and laid floral wreaths at their graves. It was President Zardari's private visit. Meanwhile, President Zardari said democracy has been restored in the country and undemocratic forces have been eliminated. He said this while talking to a delegation at Bhutto House, Naudero. The delegation comprised MPAs, MNAs, party leaders and UC nazim of two districts. President Zardari maintained the PPP has been successful to avenge BB's murder as she herself had said democracy is the best revenge. President further said his victory as the President was PPP's second victory, first being the Premiership. The President said his responsibilities have been increased after assuming the office of the President. He said the focus of the government is on uplift work and the govt will give attention to all areas of the country. President Zardari said the people of Larkana will not be ignored. The present govt, he said, is striving to remove unemployment in the country and opportunities will be provided to thousands of unemployed persons to get employment. He said the problems of the people of Naudero would be solved on priority basis as the people of this town have suffered in the past. The notables suggested Mr Zardari to name Bhutto House Naudero as President House. Zardari told them that he wanted to declare his Nawabshah residence as President House but since they desired Naudero therefore Bhutto House would be declared as President House. The delegation members on the occasion felicitated President Zardari on assuming his office. Fateha Khawani was observed for the soul of Shaheed PPP Chairperson Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Senior Sindh Minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq and Sindh Minister Mir Nadir Ali Magsi were also present.
