'Resign', says minister to Faisal

ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Water & Power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has asked MNA Faisal Saleh Hayat to resign immediately as his specific allegations pertaining to tariff of M/s IPL Faisalabad has been proven wrong. A local TV Channel had taken cognisance of Mr. Faisal Hayats statement that IPL tariff had been fixed as 18.17 cents per KWh whereas Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had stated that tariff mentioned by Faisal Saleh Hayat is incorrect and actually is 15.99 cents. This specific point had become a topic of heated discussion and loud debate on the channel. Faisal Saleh Hayat contended that if his specific point of view was not established he would resign. In case his finding is established, then Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf must resign. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Minister for Water and Power, accepted this challenge. Now, it has been proven beyond doubt that NEPRA approved RPPs tariff for M/s IPL Gojra, Faisalabad at 15.99 cents per KWh - and not 18.14 cents per KWh, contrary to the claim of Faisal Saleh Hayat. It is pertinent to recall that some media persons visited NEPRA office and met their Director General Tariff Mr. Insaf Ahmad who, after examining the record, verified that 15.99 cents was the official tariff of M/s IPL Faisalabad. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has contended that in view of his point being clearly established, time has come for Mr. Faisal Saleh Hayat to resign in view of his promise made to nation on ARY Channel. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf also has claimed that since Faisal Saleh Hayat could not establish his specific allegations regarding claim for 18.14 cents tariff for M/s IPL, his other general allegations are also evidently misleading and devoid of truth. The propaganda of Faisal Saleh Hayat is only directed to misguide the people of Pakistan who are looking up to the government to bridge the power deficit and make their life comfortable and happy.
