In occupied Kashmir, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has urged India to give up its traditional policy of force and intimidation to muzzle the voice of Kashmiris, struggling for securing their just right to self-determination. According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that New Delhi had failed to suppress the Kashmir liberation movement through use of brute force as the people of Kashmir had pledged to continue their liberation struggle till its logical end. He said that the Indian Home Ministry was running the affairs of the territory and the sole purpose of the puppet administration was to provide cover to India's atrocities in Kashmir and hoodwink the world community. Reiterating the call for one hour protest after Juma prayers on January 14 and complete strike on January 15, the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader said that protest was only way to attract attention of the world community towards the decades-long Kashmir dispute.
