Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani will chair a meeting to iron out water distribution differences between Sindh and Punjab. The meeting will be attended by the provincial ministers for irrigation and the Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf. The four chief ministers have also been invited to the meeting. The dispute over the river water distribution was started after opening of the Chashma-Jhelum link canal. The agenda of the meeting comprises finding a strategy to resolve the conflict regarding the distribution of water.
