ISLAMABAD - The religious parties have agreed to adopt a joint strategy against the US intervention in the country but the awaited announcement for revival of MMA has not been made. According to details, a joint meeting of all the religious parties was held here on Wednesday at the residence of JUI-F Chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman in connection with restoration of the MMA. Fazlur Rehman, Secretary General Maulana Ghafoor Haidri, Chief of Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith, Professor Sajid Mir, President Tehreek-e-Ittehad-e-Islami Pakistan, Allama Sajid Naqvi, former chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, JUP leader Abul Khair, Muhammad Zubair and Senator Pir Abdul Rahim Naqshbandi of JUI attended the meting. Talking to media men after the meeting, Fazl said this meeting was aimed at paving the way for revival of MMA. All the parties reiterated the determination that the voice would be raised against US interference and its aggression against Muslim Ummah, he told. He informed that the meeting also demanded that the Army should retaliate to drone attacks and shoot down US planes. The next meeting with the agenda of restoration of MMA would take place on June 13 at the residence of Allama Sajid Mir, Chief of Jamiat-e- Ahl-e-Hadith in Lahore. Former chief of JI Qazi Hussain Ahmad termed the meeting a positive move in connection with revival of MMA. We have agreed on the point of US intervention in Pakistan, he added.
