Two NATO containers set on fire

QUETTA - Unidentified people set two NATO containers on fire in Khuzdar district on Tuesday while a school was attacked with hand grenade in Mashkay town. According to sources, unidentified armed people torched two NATO containers carrying supplies for NATO forces in Afghanistan in Ornach area of Khuzdar some 360 kilometers in southeast of Quetta. As a result, both the containers and supplies were destroyed,however, no casualty was reported in the incident. The accused escaped from the site after setting the containers on fire. On getting information, police reached the site and cordoned off the area after calling fire brigade to extinguish the fire. NATO and US-led forces in Afghanistan are hugely dependent on Pakistan for their supplies and equipment, with an estimated 80 per cent of their supplies is transported by land from Pakistan. In another incident, unidentified armed people hurled a hand grenade at a school in Mashkay town where teachers were being imparted training regarding census. The hand grenade landed inside school and exploded with a big bang, shattering the windowpanes of the building, however, no loss of life was reported in the blast. Police has registered cases of both the incidents and started investigations.
