Kazmis bail application rejected

RAWALPINDI (APP) - The bail application of former Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi was rejected on Thursday. The application was presented before the Special Judge Central Rawalpindi Muhammad Farooq Latif. FIAs Assistant Director Legal Khalid informed the court that Kazmis financial assets are worth over Rs 30 million and his monthly income was limited to Rs 95,000. The court was informed that since the corruption case defamed Pakistan in the world, Kazmi should not be granted bail. Kazmis lawyer Sardar Naseer told the court that 14 plots worth Rs 1.8 million were purchased in 2009 for Kazmis children. The court rejected the application after hearing the arguments of both sides. The former minister will now file the bail application in Islamabad High Court.
