Chairman, National Assembly Kashmir Committee, Maulana Fazl-ur -Rehman discussed Kashmir issue with Mike Gapes, Chairman, House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, at their meeting in the British Parliament. The meeting took place on Tuesday evening. Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK Wajid Shamsul Hasan was also present on the occasion. The Maulana, who is currently visiting the UK, briefed Gapes on the current situation in Tribal Areas, Swat and Buner and discussed Indo-Pakistan relations with particular reference to Kashmir issue and expressed the hope that Britain will extend support in materializing peaceful solution of Kashmir through dialogue and comprehensive approach. Maulana Rehman apprised the British lawmaker on the significance of resolving Kashmir and other conflicts in the current regional scenario emphasizing it as a pre-requisite for sustainable peace in the region. Earlier, Chairman, Kashmir Committee, met the senior officers of Pakistan High Commission and called for enhancing diplomatic efforts for peaceful solution of Kashmir.
