Four killed in Chaman blast

QUETTA Some four people including two children were killed and 10 others received serious injuries in a blast in Chaman, a bordering town with Afghanistan, on Thursday. Sources said the blast took place inside a house located at Killi Muhammad Rasool, less than 1 km away from Afghan border. As a result, four people including two children were killed while ten others sustained serious injuries. The explosion damaged three nearby houses owing to which four people were killed and over ten others injured, Levies sources said. Soon after the blast, local administration and area people reached the site and retrieved the dead and the injured from the debris and shifted them to a nearest hospital. The deceased were identified as Bibi Naseema, Bibi Ramania, Ruhullah and Naseebullah. Police and other law enforcement agencies rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. The sources claimed explosives were stored inside the house which went off. However, no official was ready to comment on the nature of blast. Talking to the newsmen, Balochistan Home Secretary Zafar Baloch rejected that it was a drone attack. However, he said investigation into the matter had been started and the detailed report was yet to be received. It is premature to comment on the nature of blast unless the final investigation report is received he added. The sources said the law enforcement agencies had arrested an accused person and shifted him to Quetta for investigation.
