PESHAWAR - Two foreign journalists were injured on Friday when some unidentified militants fired at them in Shahkus area of Hayatabad.The injured journalists were the nationals of Afghanistan and Japan. According to details, the journalists were going to interview Mangal Bagh, the chief of a defunct organization, Lashkar-i-Islam, when some unknown ambushed militants suddenly attacked them in Shahkus area of Hayatabad. Later, the Japanese journalist, Yout Sakora Motokey, was shifted to a hospital in Islamabad while the Afghan journalist, identified as Sami Yusufzai, was referred to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. Their condition is reported to be stable. Yout Sakora Motokey is Bureau Chief of a Japanese newspaper and Sangeen is a correspondent of Newsweek, an American magazine. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has strongly condemned the attack and ordered inquiry into the incident. He directed his Advisor on Interior, Rehman A Malik, to submit an early report after conducting a thorough inquiry into the matter.
