Shahbaz phones PM; regrets Saad's statement

ISLAMABAD Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Thursday made a telephonic call to the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and expressed regrets over statement made by PML-N MNA Khawaja Saad Rafique against the Bhutto 'dynasty. Well-placed sources informed TheNation that Shahbaz Sharif immediately contacted the Prime Minister and extended his apology over the statement of Khawaja Saad Rafique who has allegedly criticised the Bhutto family. Sources said that Shahbaz Sharif also requested the Prime Minister to convey his apology to other leaders of the PPP. According to the sources, Speaker of Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuro and other PPP leaders have demanded an apology from PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif over Khawaja Saad Rafiques statement against the Bhutto family. According to a Press release issued by the spokesman of Punjab Chief Minister, while talking on phone to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Shahbaz said all political parties should direct their leaders to exercise care while talking about the leadership of other political parties. The leadership of PML-N does not want to hurt anyones feelings, he added. The spokesman further said that various PPP leaders, while reacting to the statements of some PML-N .leaders, have not only been using offensive and objectionable language against the leadership of PML-N for a long time but the statements issued from Presidents House and various PPP leaders after the function at Aiwan-e-Iqbal on October 12 hardly meet any standard of decency. The spokesman said the PML-N will continue its efforts to promote lofty democratic culture and acceptance of political differences.
