Eminent defence analyst Lt Gen (Retd) Talat Masood has said no breakthrough was expected from Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani's visit to Afghanistan. In an interview with foreign media, Talat Masood said deterioration of Pakistan's relations with the US may also affect its relations with India and Western world. He said the security situation in Pakistan could not improve unless improvement in Afghanistan situation. He said Pakistan has always played a crucial role for peace and stability in Afghanistan, adding that the prime minister's visit to Afghanistan is part of this process. He said no breakthrough was expected from Prime Minister Gilani's visit to Afghanistan. He said Pakistan's relations with many countries need to improve.
