QUETTA - The Balochistan Assembly Friday unanimously adopted a resolution calling upon President Pervez Musharraf to take a vote of confidence from his electoral college or resign immediately. Seven members out of 65 were absent from the session while one member belonging to PML-Q was not present in the house at the time of voting on resolution. The House met under the chairmanship of Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani. Twelve members of Balochistan Assembly belonging to different political parties had submitted the resolution. The movers of motion included Maulana Abdul Wasay (MMA), Sadiq Umrani (PPP), Mir Asadullah Baloch (BNP-A), Engineer Zamaruk Khan (ANP),Sardar Muhammad Aslam Khan Bizenjo (Independent), Rubina Irfan (PML- like minded), Captain ( r) Abdul Khaliq, Sardar Rustam Khan Jamali (independent), Mir Hamal Kalmati (PML-like-minded) Abdul Rehman Mengal (Independent) and Mir Zahoor Hussain Khosa (independent). Moving the resolution in the House, law minister Rubina Irfan said that General (r) Pervez Musharraf had violated the Constitution of country two times, inflicted irreparable loss to the democratic process, sowed distrust amongst provinces which weakened the federation of Pakistan. She said that because of wrong policies of Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan was confronting with worst political and economic crises besides crisis of electricity. She said Pervez Musharraf launched military operation in Balochistan. Nawab Muhammad Akbar Bugti and thousands of other Balochistanis were killed in this operation, she said, adding, hundreds of Balochs and Pashtoons were missing. She demanded that Pervez Musharraf should take vote of confidence from the electoral college or tender resignation immediately. She also demanded that parliament should issue a notice of impeachment to him under Article 47 of Constitution. Besides movers of the resolution some other members including Maulvi Muhammad Sarwar, Asfandyar Kakar and Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost spoke on the admissibility of the resolution. They said that country was facing serious crises because of wrong policies of General Pervez Musharraf. Sardar Sanaullah Zehri and Sardar Aslam Bizenjo opposed giving safe passage to Pervez Musharraf and proposed that cases should be registered against him and he should be tried in the court of law. Out of 65 members, 58 members including the speakers attended the session. However, Pir Abdul Qadir Gilani left the house before voting on resolution. When Speaker presented the resolution in the House, all 57 members who were present in the house supported the resolution. Speaker adjourned the session of house for sine die after approval of resolution. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani while terming President Pervez Musharraf a controversial President has asked him to tender his resignation. He was talking to the mediapersons on Saturday after approval of resolution from Balochistan Assembly regarding impeachment of President Musharraf. He said that impeachment in prevailing situation of country would further complicate the situation . He said Pervez Musharraf should tender resignation and go home. Responding to a question, he that he would go to Islamabad where he would meet MNAs and Senators belonging to Balochistan and would convince them to fully support impeachment motion against Pervez Musharraf. He said that he would recommend in the meeting of federal cabinet that military operation in Balochistan, killing of innocent people, missing of persons and other related issues be also included in the charge-sheet against Musharraf. "We think Musharraf is responsible for deteriorating law and order in Balochistan," he added. He said that Pervez Musharraf due to his wrong doings had become a controversial president and there was no room for him to remain as president of the country any more. Responding to a question, he said, majority of members of cabinet are of the opinion that those members of cabinet should be sacked who deliberately remained absent from the session of assembly.
