SHIKARPUR - Maria Shah a doctor by profession was seriously burnt and injured when a youngster threw acid over her face and body when she was examining ladies patients in a private hospital situated at Khabbar Chowk Sajnrani Muhallah here on Thursday evening. Doctor Maria Shah was examining the patients when one youngster identified as Arsalan, forcibly entered her room and threw the acid over her face and body. Later he ran away. Maria was rushed to Civil Hospital Shikarpur for medical treatment. According to duty doctors, 60 per cent of the body of Dr.Maria was burnt while her face was badly affected. Baqar Shah, father of injured lady doctor said that the culprit wanted to marry her and used to misbehave with her when she was going out of her home for duty purpose. Shikarpur police has set up check-posts to arrest the culprit. However, nobody was arrested so far.
