LONDON (AFP) - Pakistan beat Ireland by 39 runs in their World Twenty Super Eights Group F match at the Oval here on Monday. Batting first Pakistan scored 159. In reply Ireland could manage only 120 for nine. Ireland had to beat Pakistan by a wide margin and hope Sri Lanka beat New Zealand decisively on Tuesday if they were to get through to the semi-finals. Even victory for Pakistan would not assure them yet of a last four place.
