Two PPP leaders meet Imran

ISLAMABAD (INP) - PPP senior leader and ex-member of Central Executive Committee (CEC), Dr Israr Shah has been offered by Imran Khan to join Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI). Dr Israr, who has been at odds with the PPP central leadership said that he fully supported slogan of change being voiced by PTI. A day earlier Dr Israr had demanded that the government set up a truth commission 'to investigate the extraordinary increase in the assets of the ruling elite. 'I demand the government that truth commission comprising members of the independent judiciary be formed to examine the extraordinary rise in the assets of the ruling elite, Dr Israr said. Dr Israr, whose membership of the PPPs CEC, the top policy making forum of the party, has been suspended since two years said he was honoured with the 'medal of suspension when he raised his voice against the culture of corruption within the party. He said Fauzia Wahab and PPP Secretary General Jahangir Badar had given the impression in separate TV channel appearances that Dr Israr had been 'blessed by the PPP and President Asif Ali Zardari. Monitoring Desk adds: Another disgruntled leader of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Nabeel Gabol called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday, quoting its sources. The sources said that the meeting took place in Islamabad. Gabol is a Member National Assembly from Karachis Lyari area, a political stronghold of PPP. However, another TV channel reported that Nabeel Gabol has rejected the reports of his meeting with Imran Khan. He said that he had received a phone call from Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
