Malik appeals for cooperation as operations continue in Karachi

Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Sunday appealed the youth of Karachi to cooperate with security forces who were trying to bring peace to the city. Rehman Malik said that the Rangers and police are continuing their operations in Karachi, adding that business community in the city which was hit badly by the law and order situation had gained confidence after the operation in Korangi. The minister urged the people of Karachi to keep an eye on culprits who steal motorcycles and commit street crimes in the city. He announced an award of Rs500,000 for people who will help the law enforcers in arresting such criminals. Rehman Malik also warned that terrorists in the city are capable of committing crimes while disguised as security officials. The minister said that the miscreants creating violence in the mega city would be death with iron hand, adding that he would not spare any efforts for restoration of peace in the city. Meanwhile, the law enforcement agencies personnel rounded up 62 suspects during their search operation including three alleged extortionists on Sunday.
