QUETTA Balochistan was in grip of violence as two more pipelines supplying gas to Sui purification plant from different wells were damaged in separate blasts in Dera Bugti district while another two Nato trucks were set on fire on Sunday. In the first incident, a planted explosive device in Loti gas field damaged the 8-inch diameter pipeline, which supplies gas from Well No-6. A similar blast damaged an 18-inch pipeline supplying gas from Well No-15 and 21 in Pir Koh area. However, the explosions did not disrupted gas supply to the plant. On the other hand, security personnel recovered and defused an explosive device which was attached with an 8-inch diameter pipeline near Sui Colony. Meanwhile, the spokesman of Baloch Republican Army (BRA), Sarbaz Baloch, while calling from an unspecified location claimed the responsibility for the incidents. And in the outskirts of Quetta, two brothers sustained injuries in the blast caused by an explosive object. The young boys started playing with an object found from a garbage dump in Killi Nausar, some 15km from the provincial capital, which later exploded, injuring both of them. The real brothers, Kamran and Abdur Rahman, were admitted in a local hospital where the doctors declared their condition out of danger. Meanwhile, unidentified people set ablaze two containers, carrying supplies for the Nato forces deployed in Afghanistan, in Surab area of Kalat district on Sunday morning. The attackers intercepted the Kandahar-bound vehicles some 200km south of the provincial capital on the RCD highway and dismounted the drivers and cleaners. They set the containers on fire after sprinkling petrol on them and managed to escape. The inferno gutted the vehicles because there no fire-fighting arrangements available nearby. No loss of life was reported in the attack. After receiving information, the law enforcers reached the spot and cordoned off the area. No group has claimed the responsibility for torching the Nato vehicles so far.
