Our Staff Reporter ORAKZAI AGENCY - An Army Major and over 35 militants were killed in clashes in different agencies of Fata on Wednesday. At least 11 militants were killed, three others sustained injuries including a personnel of the security forces during clashes in Orakzai Agency. In the first incident forces shelled militants positions at Kor Ranchki and Dir Pahari areas in upper tehsil of Orakzai, resultantly nine militants were killed, six of their hideouts were destroyed while a vehicle owned by militants was also damaged. In retaliation, the militants fired at least five missiles at local headquarters of the forces, however, the missiles landed at a deserted place, causing no loss. In the second incident, militants attacked a security forces checkpost at Ghundai Kili and during the clashes, a soldier who was identified as Sajid Khan sustained wounds while in retaliation and clashes two more militants were killed and three other received injuries INP adds: An Army Major was killed when about 60 militants attacked the Marazan checkpost in the central Kurram Agency late Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Major Sikandar. In a retaliatory action the security forces killed more than 20 militants and destroyed their nine hideouts. The militants were hiding in nearby mountains and opened fire on the convoy which was followed by a rocket attack. Security forces retaliated the attack and killed 20 militants. One Major succumbed to his wounds, official sources said. Similarly, up to six militants were killed and several others injured in security forces operation launched against insurgents in Khartang area of Darra Adamkhel on Wednesday. Official sources said that security forces launched the operation against the insurgents and pounded hideouts of militants with heavy artillery, killing six militants and inflicting injuries on many others.
